QuashedNYC parking tickets

NYC parking ticket?
Dismissed or free.

Enter your plate. We pull your open tickets from the city’s records, check each one for the defects judges throw tickets out on, and write the dispute for you. You pay half the fine only if the ticket is dismissed. Otherwise you pay nothing.

1
Find the ticket

We look it up in the NYC Department of Finance’s public record. Fine, status, deadline.

2
We check it

Every ticket must state 13 things correctly. One wrong box and the law says it “shall be dismissed.” We read yours against your registration.

3
You file in two minutes

Paste our statement into the city’s dispute form with the photos we tell you to take. A judge emails the decision.

What it costs

Half the fine, charged only when the city marks the ticket dismissed. A $65 ticket costs $35 if it’s dismissed and $0 if it isn’t. We save a card up front and never touch it unless you win.

Why tickets get dismissed

  • A box is wrong. Plate type, body type, make, registration expiration, the rule subsection, days and hours, place, time first observed. Any one of them omitted, misdescribed or illegible and the ticket must be dismissed on request (VTL §238).
  • The five-minute grace period. Meter and alternate-side tickets written within five minutes of the time on the sign or receipt are dismissed.
  • The sign or meter. Missing, turned, obscured, or every meter on the block broken.
  • The facts. Sold the car, stolen plates, a receipt that covers the time, a disabled vehicle moved promptly.

New York City held 1.58 million parking hearings last year and dismissed about one in four. Most people who pay never check the ticket.
